Hi new blog readers!

Before I posted my first blog, I thought I’d tell you a bit of my story. I’ll begin with my first identity crisis: am I am East or West Coaster? The answer is up in the air, since I was born in Los Angeles and lived there for a significant part of my childhood. In elementary school, we moved to New Jersey. I attended school in New Jersey until college, traveling back to Los Angeles for several weeks out of the year. Most of my family and friends lived in LA, so it was as if I’d left part of my life there. I could never relate to the bagel-eating, pizza-worshipping, tough New Jersey kids, but I couldn’t keep up with the LA kids in the fast lane. My whole life I’ve struggled with this identity. I guess I want to call California home because it was host to my first steps, first words, first friends, etc. But I have a life in New Jersey that I spent years making. I cannot explain this to every Uber driver, professor and boy I meet, and I often struggle to hold the words in when asked. So I guess I thought it best to tell you all that before I began with the rest.

The rest is as follows:

I am 18 years old writing this blog. I am a freshman at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. (one of my top five cities - blog post to come). I grew up riding horses, trained in English riding and competed in equitation. I try to disassociate myself from the term "horse girl," but I can't help my passion. I take photos in my free time, and will shoot photos of anyone who is willing to stand for me (hint!). I have a passion for reading, and have read Wuthering Heights cover to cover twice now. Ask me about Heathcliff, he's my boy. I truly think stories build our character

. Message me for recommendations and I'll send you a full list! I also love to write. I am majoring in journalism and mass communication, hoping to include political science and French in there. Writing comes naturally for me, so it only seemed fitting that I create an outlet for myself here.

I'm ultimately hoping to share my life with whoever cares to listen. I think I've had some pretty unique but easy to relate to experiences that others should listen to. I also have a head overflowing with thoughts that can become so consuming that I need to fill a page. For those thoughts that may help someone else, they are here.
